Talk about aca-awesome news!
Ben Platt, who played our favorite Star Wars-loving, magic-doing, Treblemaker-enthusiast-turned-frontman Benji, is officially on board for the upcoming Pitch Perfect sequel. This was confirmed by Platt through a picture he tweeted from the set earlier this week of himself with and co-star Skylar Astin.

He is currently starring in The Book of Mormon on Broadway, where he plays Elder Cunningham. Because of this, the extent of his involvement is unknown. But we’ll definitely be getting some Benji. and that’s plenty to be excited about. Up until this point, Platt and Anna Camp were the only two main cast members from the 2012 film who had not been tied to the sequel.
And while former Bella Aubrey Posen continues to be the lone holdout, we’re hoping she’ll eventually come around. I mean, last time she decided to take a leap of faith, the results were pretty epic. We’re hoping she can do it again.
