… I will contact scholarship, attorney general – Ortom’s spokesman

About 200 Benue State indigenes studying in the six Nigeria Law school campuses have sent Save Our Soul(SOS) to Governor Samuel Ortom, for rescue as the economic recession hit hard on them.

Although, Governor Ortom’s Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, told LEADERSHIP on telephone that he would contact state scholarship board and Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, for more facts:” Thank you very much. I don’t have facts let me call scholarship board and commissioner for Justice”

LEADERSHIP checks across the law campuses observed that many of the Benue less privileged students were  considering to quit the one year mandatory studies due to hardship as many cannot afford one square meal per day.

However, many of the law students when contacted on telephone expressed frustrations, saying some of their fellow students were planning to drop for the next session.

One of the students ,Torkwase Takerada, expressed her disappointment on facebook: “It’s really pathetic for a lawyer to take to begging. Sadly, most Benue students lawyers in various campuses of the Nigerian Law School have no choice than to resort to it. Our government needs to come to our aid”

Tyokever Joy, also complained on facebook:” Nobody is saying anything because they don’t have interest in this matter, their children are not in this situation, just thinking aloud!”she lamented.

One of the law students who spoke on condition of anonymity said:” I heard that some Benue state students have left, while some are also thinking of leaving to go and look for money because of hardship” the student stressed.
