As part of measures to improve customer experience, sustainability and security, Access Bank Plc has upgraded its Payment Card Industry data Security Standard (PCI DSS) and ISO 27001: 2013 of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).

The bank at the weekend upgraded from PCI DSS version 2.0 to PCI DSS version 3.1 with additional security measures and improved processes to be the first Nigerian bank to get the version 3.1 accreditation.

The bank also upgraded its ISO 27001:2005 certificate to the most recent ISO 27001:2013 of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) to ensure sustainability and business continuity. With these accreditation,

Speaking at the presentation of the certificates, Executive Director Operations and Information Technology, of the bank, Ojini Olaghere the accreditations were in line with the Board and Management commitment to ensure continuous improvement and security of the Bank’s information assets.

“Information security and protection of confidential and sensitive customer data remains a priority for Access Bank. Thus we are not resting on our oars but have developed and implemented an information security and risk management framework that is in line with global best practices.

“Retaining these global security standards fundamentally requires that we have a process in place that meets the security requirements and we remain compliant by continuously reviewing and improving security of our systems.

He stressed that the bank is committed towards ensuring “that security of our systems is paramount to fulfilling our brand promise of Speed Service and Security and we will not relent in ensuring that our systems are operated in accordance with international best practice.

“The threat of cyber security and fraud has made the call for continuous improvement of systems security ubiquitous. We will stop at nothing, to ensure that “security of our service platforms and channels are constantly upgraded,” he said.
