(K’mer SAGA) – Seals were attached on the premises of this media yesterday, August 10th, 2015, by elements of the Central Police Station No. 1 in Yaounde.

After closing the headquarters of Yaounde of the “Pan-African Television» Afrique Media on Thursday, August 6th, and the missed closing of its headquarters in Douala yesterday August 10th, another media has just seen its premises sealed under the order of the National Communication Council (NCC).

According to the newspaper Le Jour, published on Tuesday, August 11th, 2015, the premises of Royal FM, broadcasting on 92.1 were sealed yesterday around 6:00 PM by elements of the Central Police Station No. 1 in the city of Yaounde. This closure is part of the decisions taken last June 4th by the National Communication Council. Indeed, the body in charge of media regulation headed by Peter Essoka had decided to suspend the radio for a period of one month, the newspaper reminds.

We recall that the same decision was taken against a radio journalist that the NCC had sanctioned for “undermining ethics and ethics in social communication.”

Royal Fm through the program “Le débat républicain,” and its presenter Pharel Ateba, were sanctioned following the case between them and Oswalde Baboke, technical advisor to the Presidency of the Republic. In this program, according to the NCC, the employee of the President was accused of embezzling a sum of 15 million CFA francs from the First Lady, money that was assigned to the needy.

Le Jour emphasizes that “after the decisions in June by the NCC, Pastor Jonathan Nti, promoter of Royal Fm, refused to respect them saying they were illegal. Reasons why he brought an action for suspension to the administrative court and other administrative appeal to the National Communication Council “.

This is the second sanction against that radio. Royal Fm had already been suspended for a month before.
