Life is full of updates.

Like the moment when we “select all” in the app store, choosing the menu item that allows us to make a sweeping inventory of every piece of software that contains the bug fixes, improvements, additions, and tweaks allowing us to maximize performance.

Life is full of these, whether in the virtual space, in the negotation of our lives with our families, at work, on the mat. Life is full of these updates if we can dare to select all.

Of course, it’s a lot easier when all we have to do is press a button. The updates of daily life involve discipline, practice, repetition, dedication, meeting the moments when we’re caught in the glitchy rather than the new improved version of whoever we are or whatever we’re doing.

Fortunately, just as there are always programmers building updates for our software, there is a great deal of support available through our practice and our community. And that support is always being updated–through new techniques, new studios, new opportunities to come together.

This weekend, Miguel Latronica will be teaching a workshop using the Mighty Body Band, Saturday, at Black Dog Yoga in the Valley. This prop allows people to use resistance to enhance their practice.

Tonight, YogaFit celebrates the opening of their flagship studio on South Robertson in LA. Theevening art show will benefit Yoga Gives Back, allowing people to support the people who live in the birthplace of the yoga practice.

Tomorrow, Naren K. Schreiner will be sharing his dedication to years of music practice and sadhana within the studio walls of InYoga.

These are only a few of the plethora of opportunities available for us to support our regular updates.

I’m selecting all,

Felicia Marie Tomasko, RN
