If you haven't heard already, Toyota recently
formed a partnership with German automaker, BMW. Although details are still
sort of fuzzy about what exactly they are teaming up to do, there is plenty of
speculation. With BMW being a performance-minded brand and Toyota having a
reputation for producing reliable vehicles and hybrid technology, we are sure
that whatever the two brands create it will be impressive.

At
the moment, many suspect that Toyota is interested in working with BMW in order
to produce a new sporty model that would replace the now defunct
Supra. Our favorite Japanese automaker has been without a
sports car in its lineup of new
Toyota vehicles for some time now, and it could be that the
company is trying to add some speed and performance to its portfolio.

BMW also has a lot of experience building diesel vehicles,
and with Americans beginning to develop a taste for this alternate fuel it
could be that Toyota wants to borrow some technology that could get them a
diesel-burning model.

As for BMW's reason for forging this partnership, they could
be looking to get their hands on some of Toyota's great hybrid technology that
is currently being used in vehicles like the Toyota
Prius.

We will be sure to keep our ears open for any news about the
two companies working together, and you can be sure we will write all about it
here on our blog.
To see the some great Toyota technology in action, you can always drop by the
Lawrence Toyota showroom to take a test drive in any of the vehicles
