Chicago, IL (Law Firm Newswire) December 9, 2013 – Four women died after a Ford Explorer flipped over on Interstate 290 on September 26.

The four women were killed, and four others injured, when the vehicle rolled down an embankment near Illinois Route 83 and flipped over. According to police, the driver was charged with driving without a license and was issued other citations. The driver and seven passengers of the vehicle were employed by a Chicago-based temporary employment agency and were en route to a job in the western suburbs when the crash occurred at about 6:15 a.m.
“This is a very tragic accident,” said Robert Briskman, a car accident attorney with Briskman Briskman & Greenberg.
Battalion Chief Scott Walker of the Addison Fire Department said that work IDs and lunch pails were found in the wreckage. According to state police, the driver was charged with driving without a license and driving with a suspended registration. She also received citations for driving without insurance, failing to reduce speed and improper lane usage.
Police reported that one person was trapped underneath the vehicle and seven people were ejected from it. The dead included two 43-year-old women, a 28-year-old woman and a 44-year-old woman. Investigations indicated that only one vehicle was involved in the accident.
In addition to the fatalities, the driver and three men from Chicago were injured. The driver was 31-years-old and the injured passengers were 51, 43 and 28 years old. The injured passengers were taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove and Adventist GlenOaks Hospital in Glendale Heights. They were expected to recover.
According to state police, the driver and front seat passenger appear to have been wearing seatbelts, but there was no indication that any of the other passengers were wearing them.
In the state of Illinois, as of October 2, 2013, there were 755 fatalities in 680 fatal crashes for the year, an increase of 8 fatalities compared to the same time period in 2012. Cook County accounted for 178 of the fatal crashes.
