Colonel George P. Beach II, Director and Superintendent of the New York State Police sadly reports the death of Trooper Brian Falb.

Trooper Falb, died as a result of a rare brain cancer he contracted due to his assignment at Ground Zero following the World Trade Center Attacks and the subsequent search and recovery efforts. He was diagnosed with the cancer last year.

Trooper Falb served the New York State Police for eighteen years and was assigned to Troop B for his entire career. His daily work assignment was with the Traffic Incident Management Team. His wife and four children survive him.

Trooper Brian Falb is gone, but never forgotten. EOW: Monday, March 13, 2017.
