Some of my favorite outfit inspiration comes during the winter months. There are plenty of opportunities to layer on chunky knits, bold plaid, and my personal favorite, cozy peacoats. December fashion not only means stylishly bundling up, but also breaking out the sequins and dresses for holiday party season. The holidays are in full swing so if you’re in the market for pieces that are merry and bright, you’ve come to the right place.

Below are my top 10 favorite style tips and tricks for the month of December. Who knows, you might even find something to put on your Christmas list this year…

1. Crazy for Camel.
Each winter I always get excited to break out my favorite camel colored coats. Not only do they go with practically everything, but you can have fun with your accessories, too. Helena of Brooklyn Blonde paired her camel number with a simple black bag and gorgeous striped heels.

3. Sport A Skinny Tie.
I’m taking a tip from menswear for this one. While scarves are a cold weather staple, I recommend mixing it up with one of these ultra-skinny ties. Erica of Fashioned Chic is donning her version of the menswear trend with a blazer and oversized tee.

3. Add Unexpected Sequins.
Who said that sequins are reserved strictly for party attire? Bring a little sparkle into your everyday wardrobe like Michéle of The Fashion Fraction did. Pair your favorite denim with a sequined blazer and viola!

4. Get Cozy.
Winter rule number one: Always stay cozy. Chunky, cable knit, cashmere—you name the type of sweater, I love it. Lauren of Lauren’s Lyst is looking winter ready in her blush pink sweater and suede boots. Can you say, “match made in heaven”?

5. Bundle Up!
This outfit has the holidays written all over it. There’s something warm and fuzzy about a faux shearling vest this season. I love how Kate of A Lonestar State of Southern is bundled up with a very Christmassy scarf and long-sleeved shift dress.

6. Be Big On Comfort
Sometimes those chilly days are reserved strictly for comfortable clothes. I’m talking about your favorite baggy sweater, or in this case your favorite oversized sweater dress. Mara of M Loves M knows exactly what I’m talking about. To accessorize, just add a steaming cup of hot cocoa.

7. Damsel in Distressed
Don’t be afraid to drag your distressed denim into cooler months. Ashley of Polka Dots and Sailor Stripes has a bold sense of style with her leather moto jacket, oversized button up, and distressed jeans. I’m personally taking a tip from this gal!

8. Bring Back the Turtleneck
Something I can’t get enough of this season? Turtlenecks! I love how this trend is back and in full swing. Jessi of The Darling Detail found the most flattering way to wear this style—with a bold pair of chunky ankle booties and a classic bucket bag.

9. The Cape Combo
Since it isn’t exactly acceptable to wear a blanket outside of the house, the next best thing has to be the blanket cape. Mandy of Waiting on Martha looks ultra cozy in her chambray and cape combination. Plus how festive is that plaid?

10. Live On the Wild Side
Holiday season style requires sparkle, glam, and the occasional animal print. Alicia Tenise has all of her bases covered with this outfit! Her classic red dress works for holiday soirees across the board and I love how she complimented it with a bold animal print. Her statement necklace and black accessories are the perfect finishing touches.
