When Team LC flew off to New York for fashion week last fall to see the spring 2014 trends on the runways, it was hard to even think about what our closets would look three seasons from then. But, now that we’re in the swing of spring, those pretty pastels and flirty florals are looking pretty good right about now. Sometimes it can be hard to know which trends from the runways are actually wearable. It can also be tricky to narrow them down to a few that are worth trying. That said, today we’ve put together a little cheat sheet to spring’s five chicest trends.

From shiny metallics to perfectly pleated skirts, here are our favorite trends to try this season…

Blush

One of Team LC’s personal favorite colors, blush made a big splash on the spring runways of designers like Balmain, Christian Dior, and Isabel Marant. It is the ultimate feminine color, and it can be light enough to even be considered a neutral. This hue can be worn almost any way, and for any occasion this spring. You can wear a monochromatic blush ensemble, or just add a few pops of pink here and there. Here are a few of our favorite blush pieces…

Topshop Crochet Crop Top, $76
Tibi Color Block Pants, $298
Concertina Satchel Bag, $56.46

Metallics

Metallics are shining bright like a diamond this season. Designers including Rochas, Altuzarra, and Lanvin were all taking a note from this heavy metal trend on the runways. But metallics can also be worn the real way too. Shinny dresses, metallic shoes and accessories are our favorite way to wear this trend…

Topshop Metallic Sunflower Skort, $84.00
River Island Juan Pink Metallic Embossed Jelly Sandals, $33.87
Topshop Rose Gold Textured Tee, $76.00

Floral Frenzy

April showers bring May flowers…and spring florals. In our opinion, floral pieces in the springtime will never go out of style. It feels seasonally appropriate, and a touch of floral is always perfectly ladylike. This year, go bold with your florals. Think floral embellishments like Dolce & Gabanna, or big watercolor florals like Lela Rose. Creatures of the Wind even combined florals and metallic to hit two trends with one stone. For starters, take a peek at these flowery pieces…

LC Lauren Conrad Floral Chiffon Henley, $21.99
Equipment Landon Cropped Pants, $198.00
Topshop Pink Rose iPhone 5 Shell, $16.00

Sporty

The sporty trend has had its fair share of moments in fashion history. While some sporty trends aren’t exactly easy to translate from runway to real way, some are quite wearable (think Victoria Beckham, Alexander Wang and Rag & Bone). This spring, we’re going to channel our inner athlete with chic sneakers and a hint of tennis pro style. Here’s a few pieces that will do just that…

State of Being Organza Pencil Skirt, $127.94
ASOS Full Monty Sandals, $65.87
ElevenParis Kravitz Sweatshirt, $75.00

Pleated

Pretty pleats were no doubt one of our favorite trends from the spring 2014 runways. And can you blame us? Pleats give flowy skirts, dresses, and tops a polished touch for spring. Proenza Schouler, Givenchy, and Marni had some of our favorite pleated looks, but here are a few real ways to try this trend…

Antipodium Hot Knife Pleated Skirt in Metallic, $348.15
ASOS T-shirt Pleated Midi Dress, $122.32
Pleat Raglan Crop Tee, $72.00

Which of these trends are you most excited to try this spring?
