As New York’s Fall Fashion Week carries on, we praise the world’s most celebrated fashion designers and ogle over their highly anticipated fall collections. NYFW is the beginning of an exciting month that carries the people of the fashion world from NYC to London to Milan, finally landing them in Paris. We are all about the stunning new styles that grace the runway but as interior design aficionados we can’t help but wonder what the decorating habits are of the world’s top fashion designers?

As you might expect, their homes and offices are as eclectic and well-varied as their designs and to honor their brand new collections, we’re showing off some of their gorgeous spaces.

Scroll through to check out our favorite fashion-forward spaces!

1. Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren is a true pioneer of the fashion world, but he’s also celebrated for his long-running line of home decor. The fashion guru has a number of properties, each encompassing a different facet of his style. His Colorado ranch, pictured above, is probably the greatest reflection of his distinct rugged Americana, masculine style.

2. Diane von Furstenberg

Diane von Furstenberg is most well-known for her groundbreaking wrap dress, which forever altered the way women dress and think about fashion. Eclectic prints are one of her specialties, so we weren’t at all surprised to see cheetah and zebra print decor spotting her coveted Manhattan apartment/office space.

3. Calvin Klein

A young Calvin Klein took up residence in this impressive, modernist Fire Island home. Named the Sloan House and designed by architect Horace Gifford, the space encompasses the same type of liberated spirit and super hip style as Calvin’s designs.

4. Rick Owens

When it comes to interior design, Rick Owens definitely has the same concept in mind as he does for his clothes. His raw marble bed frame completely recalls his structured, minimalist, and edgy designs. His space is so contemporary it’s difficult to tell if most of his decor is art or furniture — we’re thinking it’s all a little bit of both.

5. Kenzo

Kenzo Takada’s Paris home mixes traditional Japanese and European influences. His space is much more formal than his typically quirky designs, but the fusion of upbeat, Japanese culture and sophisticated, Parisian-chic style is still visible.

6. Karl Lagerfeld

Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld is one of the most notorious names in the fashion industry; he’s highly celebrated for revamping the face of Chanel while managing to maintain the brand’s timeless style and integrity. Karl’s Paris flat is a little more futuristic spaceship than classic Chanel, but the monochromatic look and metallic decor are still at the height of luxury.

7. Kate and Jack Spade

Husband and wife designer duo Kate and Jack Spade have filled their Upper East Side apartment with classic, chic decor that reflects their love for the arts and the same vibrant yet traditional personality they infuse into their brands.

8. Versace

‘Italian kitsch’ is the term you’re looking for to describe both Versace’s clothing and home. Ancient Greek influences and striking luxury ooze from every corner of this lavishly decorated courtyard.

9. Christian Dior

This small cottage on the grounds of Christian Dior’s Normandy villa has Russian influence written all over it. Stained glass windows recall the intricate detailing of Faberge eggs while horn chairs and chandeliers under a beam ceiling give it a rustic and glamorous, Old-world appearance. Personally, we think the holiday cottage resembles a fairytale gingerbread house and we’re loving it.

It comes as no surprise that these iconic fashion designer’s spaces are filled with as much intricate personality as their runway couture. With unlimited budgets and tons of unique and experimental ideas, these homes would be a dream to design!
