There’s only 10 days before Marc Maron returns to our smallscreens! And if the first season is any indication, viewers can expect another dose of hilarious, dysfunctional misery in the second season of IFC’s Maron premiering May 8 at 10 pm. In the unlikely event you don’t know what the show is about, comedian, actor and groundbreaking podcast host Marc Maron stars as a slightly fictionalized version of himself struggling to get through life and out of his own head. Maron co-writes and stars as a neurotic and extremely honest, twice-divorced owner of three cats who’s been sober for more than a decade.

As always, Maron doesn’t forget his comedian brethren. In addition to recurring actors like Judd Hirsch (Maron’s bi-polar dad), Sally Kellerman (Maron’s sweet-yet-emotionally-distant mom), Andy Kindler, Josh Brener and Dave Anthony, the 13-episode second season will include guest spots from Johnny Knoxville, Ray Romano, David Cross, Sarah Silverman, Michael Ian Black, Chris Hardwick, Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter.

Since the debut of his Podcast WTF with Marc Maron in 2009, Maron has experienced newfound popularity interviewing fellow comedians out of a homemade studio in his garage. Sitting down with some of comedy’s biggest names in relaxed and candid though sometimes serious and somber discussions, he explores stories of life, failure career and personal relationships, all through the lens of comedy. To help get you psyched for new episodes of Maron, check out this clip from season two below, wherein Maron prepares to guest on Chris Hardwick’s AMC show Talking Dead. The twist is that Michael Ian Black is also guesting. And if you’ve been following the two comedians in real life, you know they sort of have a love-hate relationship with each other. Enjoy!
