Former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt was with Secretary of Defense James Mattis, Senator John McCain, and Vice President Mike Pence at the annual Munich Security Conference when he heard about an unknown terror attack in his home country. Of course, the attack wasn’t real but was just the latest brain-fart from President Donald Trump.
Sweden? Terror attack? What has he been smoking? Questions abound. https://t.co/XWgw8Fz7tj

During his “campaign” rally in Florida on Saturday, President Trump obliquely referred to “what’s happening last night in Sweden,” during a riff about terrorism. Then, as if aware he’d just said something nonsensical, the president doubled down. “Sweden,” he said, “who would believe this?”
The answer, it appears, is no one. In fact, Swedish government officials were absolutely baffled at what the president suggested. “We have asked the question today to the state department. We are trying to get clarity,” Swedish foreign ministry spokesperson Catarina Axelsson said to the Associated Press. The news service also reported that Swedish police have not changed the terror threat level and can think of no incidents the president could have been referring to.
For the second time since he took the oath of office, Twitter users across the globe took to the social media platform to mock the Trump administration for a terror attack that never happened.

It’s unclear if the perpetrators of the “Swedish Incident” are linked in any way to those nefarious scoundrels who pulled off the “Bowling Green Massacre.”
