The students & chef instructors of Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Las Vegas are preparing for a culinary clash as they partner with the World Food Championships in Las Vegas NV taking place Nov. 7-10. In keeping with its commitment to connect students with industry leaders, more than 75 students will have the possibility to use their culinary skills throughout the competition & interact with professional chefs & competition teams, allowing them to get a firsthand look at the latest industry trends & gain hands-on experience outside the classroom.

Le Cordon Bleu students will assist in a type of positions throughout the weekend, in addition to serving as sous chefs to competitors & creating mouthwatering dishes for the Ultimate Bacon Experience – an event in that will have attendees sizzling throughout the weekend as they enjoy original culinary creations featuring this trendy ingredient. Amie Genovese, student at Le Cordon Bleu in Las Vegas, will test her competition skills as she takes on sandwich artisans from around the world during the World Sandwich Championship.

Several chef instructors from the Le Cordon Bleu in Las Vegas NV campus will put their professional skills to use to compete for the title of World Food Champion & part of a $300,000 prize purse. Chef Mark Levasseur, chef director of career services, will face off in the 2013 World Burger Championship, looking for the perfect ratio of burger to bun in this mouthwatering competition. Chef Kathy Wessman, the school’s director of education, will compete in the World Dessert Championship, bringing her best sweet treats to the table. Chef Instructor Elizabeth Martinez will showcase her bacon skills in the Bacon World Championship.

It all comes down to the Final Table where the category winners face off for the chance to be crowned World Food Champion & take home part of the $300,000 total prize purse.
