Long-time celebrity impersonators, The Las Vegas Pee Wee, and Donna Carlsen, Female Male Impersonator, to perform again.

By Debbie Hall

Sometimes fate steps in and changes lives when least expected, especially for Jason Doucette and Donna Carlsen. Doucette had enjoyed a long career as The Las Vegas Pee Wee but had retired. Carlsen was the first Las Vegas woman to impersonate men from Batman to Ozzy Osborne along with her one iconic female personality, Madonna and had also retired.

Then came the desire to perform again with a perfect opportunity to entertain as well a benefit someone in need.

Hope Billings, the young mother of two sons under the age of two, was recently diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma cancer with no health insurance to cover treatment or care. When country recording artist Andrew Charles Koch and performer/club owner Tommy Rocker approached Doucette, he agreed to become co-producer and emcee the benefit as Las Vegas Pee Wee. Doucette is one of the few tribute artists sanctioned by Paul Reubens as a true Pee Wee impersonator.

Carlsen wanted to be part of the fun and agreed to perform as Ozzy with an onstage transformation into Madonna.

The 11-hour multi-concert series will include artists: Andrew Charles Koch and The ACK band, Tommy Rocker, James Sinor, John Esquival, Voodoo Stick and Rockin’ Blues. A music video will be filmed in the club featuring Driving While Blind at 9 p.m. and the audience is invited to be part of the video. For college football fans, LSU will still be broadcast on big screen televisions from 6 to 9 p.m.

Performing in his teens, Koch is a singer/songwriter of a blend of country/rock/folk/jazz/blues for decades. Since forming his first band at age 11, Tommy Rocker has opened for countless big-name acts over the years with his brand of entertainment, rock ‘n’ comedy as well as opened his own club 20 years ago.

“To Hope…With Hope” concert series benefit is produced in partnership with Andrew Charles Koch, of TMG Records, Doucette Entertainment and Tommy Rocker’s. The event will be held at Tommy Rocker’s, 4275 Dean Martin Dr, from 1 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, Aug. 30. Must be 21 & Over.
