LAS VEGAS – Big League Weekend at Cashman Field in 2014 will feature the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets, March 15 and 16.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has approved spending $300,000 to bring the teams to Las Vegas. Both clubs need to sign agreements to make the deal official.

The Mets are the Major League parent club of the Las Vegas 51s.  The Mets will be making the trip to Las Vegas from their spring training headquarters in Port St. Lucie, Florida. It will be their first appearance in Las Vegas since 1997.

The Cubs have been perennial visitors to Las Vegas. They train in Mesa, Arizona in the Cactus League.
