Hello everyone,
Welcome to the new governance system! I’d like to congratulate everyone who won election to the Cabinet in the elections that took place last month. I was glad to see so many members (including a lot of newer members) run for positions. Before the transition, I was lucky to get a single application for positions—but now that these positions are elected I’ve been glad to see so many people interested in taking charge of different positions within TLO. I hope the trend continues in the future. I’d also like to thank our outgoing Senators for their service to the community!
Over the next month, we’ll be continuing to transition into the new system—so please excuse the mess as we tidy up and get our act in order! Look for some big changes to be coming to TLO administratively—especially from the Academy and Media & Marketing departments.
The academy will be undergoing an overhaul over the next month or so in order to help get its administrative house in order, and to provide new content for the other games we play (STO and Minecraft). The RPG-X videos have been very successful at training new people, but it has been challenging to get new recruits to watch those videos, to get comprehension about those videos, and to provide different learning options for members who may learn better another way. Media & Marketing will be reviving our newsletter Ex Astra, which has been devoid of content for several months now. Grizz has some exciting new ideas which I think we’ll all enjoy! If you have anything you’d like to see/contribute to the newsletter, please don’t hesitate to contact Grizz. I’m sure she’d be delighted to add any submissions/ideas of yours into the newsletter. Additionally, Grizz is currently looking at ways to possibly spice up our signature and to find a way to incorporate awards more visibly into our members’ forum space. Stay tuned for more details!
How can a member keep up with all of these changes that are coming our way? Well—partially by keeping track on Ex Astra, but also by attending meetings! I have re-instituted regular meetings which will happen twice a month. Our first meeting will be on Saturday, September 14th at 1:30 PM EST (6:30 PM UK time). ALL members (and even non-members) are invited to attend this meeting. At these meetings division and department heads will update you about what’s going on in their areas, upcoming changes/matters facing the community will be discussed, and members will have a chance to chime in with their own thoughts and to bring up issues for us to talk about as well. Agendas will be posted in the Cabinet forum. I will be allowing any TLO member to request an item to be added to the Agenda, not just Cabinet members—so if you want something discussed and you want for us to make time for it, shoot me a PM and I’ll add it to the list (as long as it’s appropriate for us to talk about). Let me know if you have any questions about our upcoming meetings!
Also looking ahead, expect to see some improvements to the Minecraft server—as well as the possibility of a new SRP and/or msrp being added to RPG-X in the near future! Again, stay tuned!

Welcome to TLO guys, we’re glad to have you with us! 
We also bid a sad farewell to Trav who has decided to leave TLO to join a clan with a rule that prevents him from being in more than one community. Trav assures us, however, that he’ll still RP with us from time to time. We wish Trav all the best!
