The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is the annual examination that is conducted to provide the eligibility for aspirants to join NITs, IITs and top most colleges in India. Candidates who qualify the JEE Main Examination with good merit will be eligible for admission in top most NITs, IITs in India. Candidates with Plus 2 / 12th Class / Intermediate with at least 40% marks will attempt this examination. JEE Main 2016 All India Rank (AIR)
Candidates attempted the JEE Main Examination on 3rd, 9th and 10th June can check their JEE Main results from 23rd June. Candidates passionately waiting for the JEE Main results need to wait for a few more days. JEE Main All India Rank (AIR) will be considered for admission in the best NITs, IITs, and GFTIs. This year nearly 24,000 of aspirants were competing for JEE Main examination. The selection of candidates will be purely done on merit basis. JEE Main Rank List Download 2016
After the results for both- JEE Mains and JEE Advanced examination had been declared in May and June respectively, the admission process is poised to begin now in participating colleges. JoSAA– the Joint Seat Allocation Authority has been set up by HRD Ministry to regulate the joint seat allocation process to a total of 92 institutions through single platform. The joint counselling is currently scheduled to commence from 24 June after the rank list is announced online.
The All India Ranks (AIR) of the candidates will be based on their JEE Main score (60 per cent weightage) and Class 12 scores (40 per cent weightage). On the basis of JEE Main 2016 rank list, admission will be granted to the candidates in B.E /B Tech in engineering institutions including NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. Only the AIR is used for admissions to while other ranks are for information purposes.

Determination by marks acquired in Mathematics in JEE Main 2016. Hopeful with higher marks will be given better rank.
Determination by marks got in Physics in the JEE Main 2016. Competitor with higher marks will be given better rank.
Determination by aggregate standardized qualifying exam marks. Competitor with higher standardized marks will be given better rank.
Determination by finding the proportion of positive checks and negative marks. Competitor with higher supreme estimation of the proportion will be given better rank.
In case that the determination is unestimated after this standard, applicants will be given the same rank.

How to download IIT JEE Result, Rank and score card Result 2016
Step 1 : Visit the JEE Main official portal, http://jeemain.nic.in [OR] Click the direct link given below.
Step 2 : Search for ‘JEE Main rank, result 2016’ tab.
Step 3 : Click on it, and enter the details of registration number, date of birth etc,. And click on submit button down to the details.
Step 4 : The JEE Main results, rank, score, merit list screen.
Step 5 : Check the result, take a printout if needed for further reference.

Once JEE Main rank 2016 is published today, the process of counselling and seat allocation will begin. Here’s the complete schedule for that.
23 June– JEE Main 2016 AIR publication.
24 June– registration and filling-in of choices for academic programs will begin.
27 June (10 am to 4 pm)– mock seat allocation will be displayed based on choices filled by students as of 26 June, 5 pm.
28 June (5 pm)– candidates registration an choice filling ends.
29 June– reconcile the date, allocate seats, verify and validate.
30 June– 1st round of seat allocation result will be published at 10 am. Candidates will have to accept the seats between next 4-5 days.
A total of 4 rounds will held for allocation of seats, each scheduled to begin after the completion of admission in previous round. The current schedule of counselling after 1st round is indicative and will be finalised soon by the apex board.
