The annual 9 Lives Lanzarote campaign to spay & neuter feral cats on the island will start on the 15th October for two weeks.

There are lots of wild cats living within the holiday resorts of Lanzarote, the 9 Lives Lanzarote charity aims to help these cats by establishing cat colonies on complexes and the annual campaign to spay or neuter the cats, to restrict the number of unwanted kittens.

You can help the campaign in two ways, first if you have
time to spare then volunteers are needed to help with trapping and transporting of the cats. Fifty six different locations have been identified each with a minimum of three cats and in some cases up to twenty, all of whom require treatment this October. Every cat caught will be tested for feline aids and leukemia as well as operated on, this year’s campaign will cost in excess of  €8,000 to treat the cats already identified, therefore the second way you can help is to make a donation to the campaign fund.

Volunteers should contact Bernie by telephone on 628 592 287 or email to bernie@9liveslanzarote.com Please visit the website www.9liveslanzarote.com for more information.
