Included among the thousands of products on display at this year’s  SALTEX  will be hundreds of tools – and techniques – that landscapers will need to stay effective and efficient.

Here’s just some of the relevant products to look out for:

Air-Seal Products’ tyre sealants – one treatment should cost no more than one tyre repair and will prevent up to 95% of all tread punctures up to 15 mm. Tyre life can be increased by up to 20%, says the company.

BLEC Global’s Multivator (heavy duty and compact) for decompacting, soil recycling and topdressing all in one pass; the new Power Box Rake powered by the Avant Skid Steer unit; and the laser-guided Power Box Rake heavy duty version for tractors – cultivating, pulverising, earth moving, grading and stonepicking all in one tough machine for landscapers.

Central Spares will be showing Spyker products – high-quality walk-behind spreaders and other commercial power equipment. Also on show will be an expanded range of ‘Workshop Essentials’ products.

DJ Turfcare will use SALTEX to promote a new soil-testing service for Viano lawn product users – as well as other new products such as Viano Organic Plantfood, a general fertiliser, and new generation Atom Edgers ( pictured left)  with Mitsubishi engines. The Bushranger Edger, aimed primarily at those looking after large landscaped areas, is ideal for producing razor sharp edges. Also on show will be MOSSGO, a microbiocidal liquid which quickly and effectively removes moss from hard surfaces.

Harry West (Prees) will demonstrate Seko composting machines – Seko Green Series and Green & Compost for the chopping and mixing of branches, pruning, sewage sludge, green waste in general, peat, loam etc.

SALTEX will see the formal launch of Hyundai Power Equipment garden, estate and amenity machinery – including three self-propelled and two push lawnmowers, hand-held and wheeled string trimmers, a multi-tool and a pair of brushcutters. The stand will also feature chainsaws, a petrol-engined hedgetrimmer, backpack blowers, a hand-held blower-vacuum and high-performance pressure washers. Selected models from the Hyundai generator, air compressor and water pump ranges will also be on display.

Rochford GM is planning to wow visitors with its largest ever product launch – including the all-new AL-KO garden tractor range.

From The Woodhorn Group comes the new Earth Cycle BS 3882 Topsoil sandy loam compliant to BS 3882:2007, plus the peat-free PAS 100 compost,  soil conditioners, mulch, Topsoil Supreme, rootzones, cow compost, bark, Playchip (certified) and turf.

Tracmaster’s successful CAMON brand continues to go from strength to strength with the introduction of 27 new products. A wide selection of lawnmowers, brushcutters, hedgetrimmers (pictured left )  and hole borers have been introduced, reflecting the company’s commitment to providing the best choice of machinery available.

Vauxhall will be showing Movano, Vivaro and Combo vehicles.

Village Sensation will be demonstrating how flowers and plants are very important to people’s well-being.

SALTEX (www.iogsaltex.com), the Sports Amenity & Landscape Trade Exhibition organised by the Institute of Groundsmanship (IOG) and managed by Brintex Events, will be held on 3-5 September 2013 at Windsor Racecourse, Berks.

Founded in 1938, the exhibition is attended by open space professionals and volunteers who design, construct, manage and maintain the UK’s outdoor facilities – from sports grounds of every type to motorway service stations, and from stately homes to local council parks and schools. They visit SALTEX to meet around 300 suppliers of the machinery, tools, vehicles, turf, soils, seeds, aggregates, artificial or natural surfaces, playgrounds, landscaping equipment, street furniture, arboriculture, horticulture, safety, security, training and education services designed to help them do their jobs as effectively as possible.
