The Buckeyes offer a three-star DB out of Georgia. Also, Alabama is trying to steal the Buckeyes’ top commit.
As spring practice begins for Ohio State, recruiting is still at the forefront of the Buckeye coaching staff’s mind. The Buckeyes have been heavily active to start the year off, with seemingly multiple scholarships being sent out a week.
The most recent member of the 2018 class to receive an offer from Ohio State was cornerback Jaycee Horn (Alpharetta, GA / Alpharetta). Currently seen as the No. 54 CB in the class and the No. 55 best player from Georgia, these rankings may seem low at first but the three-star CB has been gaining the attention of multiple prestigious programs lately.
Horn has earned scholarship offers from nearly 40 different schools including Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn, West Virginia, Louisville, Maryland, Purdue and Indiana

The Georgia native has the physical attributes to succeed at the next level, standing at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds. Horn will have an opportunity to have a breakout season next year.
If the Ohio State coaching staff is serious in their efforts to land Horn, expect them to try and get him to visit the campus sometime in the next year.
Alabama offers Buckeye QB commit Emory Jones
The recruiting rivalry brewing between Urban Meyer and Nick Saban gained a new wrinkle yesterday.
While it is no secret Alabama has upped its efforts in recruiting the Ohio region this year, it is now offering Ohio State commits. Late Monday afternoon, the program sent a scholarship offer to Ohio State’s five-star QB commit Emory Jones (Franklin, GA / Heard County).

Currently seen as the No. 1 dual-threat QB in the country, Jones committed to the Buckeyes in July 2016 and has been adamant that his commitment is solid.
Despite not completely shutting down his recruitment process, Ohio State likely has little to worry about. While earning an offer from one of the best programs in college football history is certainly an honor, Ohio State has been the runaway favorite to land Jones for the majority of his recruitment. So much so, it was the only school he visited before he committed.
The move is just as it appears: a prestigious university offering one of the country’s top QB recruits. Something that goes hand in hand. As well, Alabama is without a QB commit in 2018 and nine of the country’s top ten QB’s have committed already.
Expect the coaching staff to get Jones back on Ohio State’s campus again this year as he is the cornerstone the Buckeyes’ recruiting class.
Update on Brendon White’s role with Ohio State
The newest members of Ohio State’s football team are starting to announce their jersey numbers for the upcoming season. 2016 Buckeye commit Brendon White was initially recruited as a linebacker, but seems to have officially switched to the wide receiver position. Rumors of the switch began shortly after the decommitment of four-star WR Tyjon Lindsey — but were never confirmed.
Monday, White revealed he will be dawning No. 80 for the Buckeyes during spring ball, all but assuring he will be a WR.
#80 for spring ball ✅
