It appears that a blowout victory against Rutgers is not enough to offset a close loss to Purdue. The Ohio State Basketball team, which experienced both this week, saw its ranking in the AP Poll slide three spots from 20 to 23.
The Buckeyes, who had been on a steady upward trajectory since bottoming out in the polls at 43 several weeks ago now find themselves precariously close to falling back into the "others receiving votes" category. Freshman phenom D’angelo Russell will be expected to continue to carry the load, especially with three-point sharpshooter Marc Loving still suspended.
The Buckeyes next take to the court this Wednesday at the Schott when the team hosts Penn State, a team that beat the Buckeyes twice last season.

It was senior night, but the Ohio State wrestling freshman captains stole the show, leading the Buckeyes to a 22-13 victory over then-#2 Minnesota. Nathan Tomasello got things going with a 19-5 victory over Ethan Lizak and Bo Jordan put up a big six points with his second period fall over Nick Wanzek. In what was perhaps the match of the night, Kyle Snyder used a last-second takedown to defeat two-time All-American Scott Schiller. Schiller was the second consecutive former All-American that Snyder has defeated, with the first being Penn State’s Morgan McIntosh.
Wrestling in his last dual meet in Columbus, three-time national champion Logan Stieber won a close decision over #4 Nick Dardanes. Stieber jumped out to a big lead but faded late before eeking out a 10-9 decision. For full results, see below:

As if we needed any more evidence as to how amazing the Ohio State student body is, this weekend it came together at BuckeyThon to dance the night away raising over 1.2 million dollars for pediatric cancer research. So what is BuckeyeThon? According to its website is the largest, student-run philanthropy at Ohio State. With an ultimate goal of ending childhood cancer, BuckeyeThon works to raise money to support the kids treated at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Nationwide Children's Hospital is Columbus, Ohio's Children's Miracle Network Hospital and will treat any child regardless of a family's ability to pay. BuckeyeThon hosts events and activities throughout the year to raise money For The Kids. Its largest event is the annual Dance Marathon which brings together thousands of Buckeyes in The Ohio Union.
