Week 9 offers a huge recruiting chance for Urban Meyer, Mark Pantoni, and a loaded staff of ace recruiters – but what does it offer you, the intrepid national college football viewing fan?
More: See which big time 4-star DE was just added to the list of recruiting visitors for this weekend's Ohio State-Penn State game
As is sometimes the case, the early slate isn't much to write home about. #19 Oklahoma State, #7 Miami, and #24 Nebraska are all in action, but against lesser foes. If there's ever a week to take your significant other out, exercise, or handle chores, it might be this one. But if you're like us and die hard college football aficionados, you might want to check out Northwestern v. Iowa (-3.5) on the Big Ten Network.
When the clock strikes 3:30, there'll be somewhat a reprieve. Alabama and Tennessee meet in a good old fashioned rivalry game (though Bama are heavy favorites at -28). #10 Texas Tech's clash with #15 Oklahoma could have major Big XII championship race implications – and the Sooners enter this one as 6.5 point favorites. Texas Tech's two freshmen quarterbacks will have to grow up in a hurry to claim this one.
Of course for your night cap, you'll be watching Penn State head to the Horseshoe as the two schools renew acquaintances (TV channel 1006 in Columbus), but if you've got two TVs (or an iPad laying around), #21 South Carolina against #5 Missouri (-3) and #12 UCLA at #3 Oregon (-23.5) might be worth a glance here and there.
