A local carpets and beds retailer has opened new premises in the heart of Longridge town centre and can report successful first month sales.

Longridge-based Briggs Carpets & Beds Ltd. are building on their successful business and have moved from their former premises at Enterprise House, Warwick Street, Longridge to new retail premises on Berry Lane, next door to Booths supermarket.

Briggs Carpets have taken the 3,202 sq ft premises on a new three year lease from landlord E H Booth & Co. Ltd. with Robert Pinkus & Co. acting on behalf of the landlord.

John and Joan Briggs from Brigg’s Carpets said: “We are a local family team with over 80 years combined trade experience servicing the people of Longridge and the local surrounding areas. We are delighted that we have been able to secure prime retail premises in the heart of the town centre where we can continue to serve our loyal customers and expand our showroom capabilities, displaying more of the carpet and bedroom furniture stock we have to offer.”

The company also services local communities further afield such as Lancaster, Morecambe, the Fylde Coast and the Lake District.

Joe Assalone, partner at Robert Pinkus & Co. said: “Brigg’s Carpets and Beds are a well-established and respected local business, who have received a warm welcome to the hgh street. They offer a complementary retail service alongside some successful, independent local traders and will bolster the individuality and eclectic retail mix in the town.

“Hopefully in the light of the proposed significant residential development planned for the surrounding locale, Longridge town centre will continue to prosper and reap the rewards from further further investment in local industry and commerce.”
