Lake Nona residents can now be the first to experience the newest innovations in retail at the Walmart Supercenter in Lake Nona. Called the “store of the future” for its new prototypes designed to enhance shopping and customer experience, the Lake Nona store features a whole new selection of products, services and layout.
The newly built store features a custom design and amenities tailored to the Lake Nona community. Offering a large selection of fresh organic foods and premium products, which you may have sampled at the community food truck that’s currently in town, the new store is integrating products and services that match the health and wellness-based shopping habits of Lake Nona residents.
Other new amenities are all about convenience. The new Mobile Scan & Go allows customers to scan items with their mobile device while shopping in-store, paying instantly. This and the new integrated pick-up service, which allows prescriptions, general merchandise and groceries to be picked up at a drive-through area, are virtually eliminating traditional lines. Lake Nona will be among the first communities to experience this service, merging the best of online and brick-and-mortar shopping.
These are just a few of the new design features and concepts that will be tested here in Lake Nona to be evaluated for implementation in locations across the country. Our community is not only a living lab for innovations in health and technology, but now in retail too.
