Desserts come in all shapes and sizes, but the best of the bests remain memorable for a long, long time. We have had a great year of fantastic desserts from brand new stores and long-time favourites from popular bakeries, restaurants and cafes.
In this article, we celebrate some of the best desserts in Singapore that took our breath away in 2015, and will definitely head back for more.
Here are 11 Best Desserts We’ve Had in Singapore in 2015 and you might want to try them too if you haven’t.
#1 ANGELINA – MONT BLANC
French patisserie at Angelina has long been known for their Mont Blanc (S$13.50). Yes, it is a hefty price tag for a small dessert but this signature item is so popular worldwide for a reason – it tastes better than heaven.
Wrapped around with layers of chestnut purée vermicelli, with light whipped cream under it and meringue in its center, the Mont Blanc is probably the best we have had in Singapore (and in the world).

When Dazzling Cafe first came to Singapore, the Taiwanese cafe chain saw snaking queues every single day, all throughout the day. Our top pick from the standard menu is the Hazel Chocolate Honey Toast (S$19.90).
Dazzling Cafe is also home to several other crazy Thick Toasts, and they are all nothing short of photogenic.

Out of all the molten lava cakes we have had this year, we can safely say that the Molten Peanut Butter Chocolate Lava Cake (S$15) is a top contender.
The classic combination of peanut butter and chocolate is divine, and the side of ice cream really sealed the deal for us.

The combination of flavours and textures of this adorable dessert is outstanding to say the least, and the price tag had us loving it even more!

May May’s Liu Sha Donuts (S$7 for 3) were a total hit when they were first introduced. Everyone who had tried it will remember the warm salted egg yolk goodness cocooned in deep-fried donut lavishly coated with sugar.
Well, salted egg yolk anything will get to us; even more so when they are eaten as a dessert!

A couple of months ago, chocolate domes were all the rage on social media. You can have a great rendition at Opus Bar & Grill where the Chocolate Dome (S$14) is filled with blueberry crumble and Baileys ice cream.
Elegant and decadent, watch as the dome “burst open” when the hot chocolate sauce is poured all over it. What a show.

#8 STRICTLY PASTRY – UGLY SUE
This cake certainly does not look like much, but sometimes, even the most undiscerning looking desserts can sweep you off your feet and this was just one of them.
Strictly Pastry’s Ugly Sue (S$3 per slice) might be so ugly on the outside, but inside, it is a pot of gold. The simple dessert is a meringue filled with passionfruit mousse, then rolled with fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries.

This is one unexpected creation by the people behind The Populus Coffee & Co. What might look like just a sundae is actually way more than that. The Lemon & White Chocolate Sundae (S$14) is a mind-blowing bowl of homemade Tahitian vanilla ice cream with fresh lemon jelly, rosewater meringue, white chocolate crumb, popping candy, cornflakes and citron mascarpone.
