Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for a set dollar amount in various Los Angeles neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Our friends at Zumper have helped us out finding listings for today's price: $1,600. Vote on the best one after the jump.

↑ If you are moving because of your awful neighbors, you'll be delighted to know that this Mar Vista one-bedroom will never have anyone living above or below it. (There's still the people on either side of you to worry about, though.) The mid-century unit reminds you it is "vintage" with that cool light fixture, the hardwood floors, and the wood-burning fireplace. The unit comes with assigned covered parking in a "secured carport," a dishwasher, and on-site (but not in-unit) laundry facilities. There are no shots of the bedroom or the bathroom, but we trust those do in fact exist. Rent's $1,600 a month.

↑ This pet-friendly West Hollywood studio has a new bathroom and kitchen and, if you've got a washer and dryer hanging around, you can have in-unit laundry here, too. The listing assures that this location is a "Walker's Paradise so daily errands do not require a car," which is good because since this unit only offers street parking, and once you get a spot, you're never going to want to move your car. Rent is $1,650 a month.

↑ This truly cozy, 518-square-foot "condo-style" unit in Silver Lake has been fully renovated and stuffed with granite countertops, new appliances, porcelain tile floors, and double-paned windows. Tenants get one parking space to sweeten the deal. Rent is $1,695.

↑ Alright, so it doesn't have the vintage charm or the walkability of some other units, but this Valley Village apartment does offer you some space to spread out. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit even offers your car(s) some more space in two tandem parking spots in an underground garage. Two! The unit has a dishwasher, a wetbar, and a random guy in the living room, if the last photo is to be believed. For this price, some may not care. Rent is $1,550 a month.

↑ A mystery unit in Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw*! The ad offers almost no information other than the fact that this two-bedroom, one-bathroom doesn't allow pets. From the listing photos, however, it seems like the kitchen's been updated; there are granite countertops and, unless that's a staging stove, there's one of those as well. The 900-square-foot unit appears to have hardwood floors throughout and, from the looks of that swamp cooler, no central air. But! It does have a soap dispenser in the bathroom, just like one you'd find in a restaurant bathroom. Rent in this unit, just about a quarter-mile walk from the Expo Line's Crenshaw station, is $1,500 a month.
