ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) – Investigators are worried about a man they describe as “bipolar and suicidal,” who has been missing since Jan. 25.

Michael Bauer, pictured above, was last seen leaving his apartment in Round Rock to visit his grandparents. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Family members say he is considered a danger to himself because he is bi-polar and suicidal. Authorities say they do not suspect foul play in his disappearance.

Mandy Bauer says her husband of five years could be in serious trouble. “”I started to worry when I got the call from his mom when he said ‘I love you’, then we couldn’t reach him after that,” says Bauer.

She says Michael left their home two weeks ago to go visit his grandparents. Hours later, he never showed up.

“I texted back I love you 2, what’s up?” said Linda Niessen, Michael’s mother, sensing something was wrong. “And when he didn’t text back within a minute, it went straight to voicemail, and I knew.”

Round Rock police say they’ve tried tracking Michael through his credit cards and cell phone but have had no luck with either, leaving his family fearing the worst.

“We just want him back,” Niessen said. “And if he’s not alive, we just want to bring him home.”

He was last seen wearing a snap button down navy blue jacket with cream colored lining, blue jeans, and brown square toe cowboy boots. He is 28-years-old.

If anyone has information on Bauer’s whereabouts, please contact the Round Rock Police Department at 512-218-5500.
