CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) — A Charles City man accused of breaking the bones of an infant has been charged with two counts of child endangerment resulting in serious injury.
Prosecutors say 21-year-old William Khuns squeezed the infant in August until the baby’s ribs broke and twisted the baby’s arm behind its back in September until he heard a pop.
Police say the baby suffered nine broken bones.
The Mason City Globe Gazette reports that Khuns was arrested Tuesday (March 8).
Online records show a preliminary hearing for Khuns has been set for March 18.
A phone number for Khuns could not be found, and his public defender could not be reached for comment Saturday.
