Knowle West Media Centre is inviting proposals from emerging creative digital artists towards a Fellowship funded by the BBC Performing Arts Fund (PAF).

The Fellowship with KWMC is a unique opportunity for a creative digital artist in the early stages of their career to work closely with our staff and cohorts to develop their skills (creative and business) and knowledge of the creative sector, and to establish themselves in a professional career. The Fellowship is a bespoke programme and will be designed with the successful applicant to suit their specific developmental needs.

The Fellowship provides a bursary of £10,000, the budget for which will be agreed between KWMC and the successful applicant and will cover costs including fees, training, travel, mentors etc. Artists should be available to undertake the Fellowship from March to August 2015; you are not expected to be full-time on the Fellowship but you must be able to dedicate sufficient time to it to make it meaningful experience.

The successful applicant will work with KWMC to create an application to PAF, which will support KWMC’s aim of developing high quality, exciting and digitally creative young people’s programme. They will input directly into developing the shape, content and impact of the Fellowship and identify why it would make a difference to them at this time. Alongside this the successful applicant will be given budget control to develop a creative project to take place within a school holiday.

The Fellowship is a rare opportunity to develop your existing skills as a creative digital artist through the time it provides for action research, mentorship, production advice, training, widening of existing networks and raising of your profile. The BBC Performing Arts Fund aims to be ‘the bridge between emerging artist and recognised talent’.
