SANTA BARBARA, CA—(Marketwired – March 02, 2016) – The Santa Barbara 100 (SB100), presented by Silver Air, will hold its annual charity cycling event on Saturday, October 22, 2016, starting and finishing on the famous Leadbetter Beach in Santa Barbara, California. Online registration is now open at http://sb100.org/register.html.

One of the premier cycling courses in Central California, the SB100 featured all–new registration and celebration expos, new on–course amenities, and added multiple sponsors en route to nearly doubling its charitable donations over any previous year to more than $79,000 in 2015. In only 6 short years the event has donated more than $280,000 to charity.

Named one of “9 American Centuries to Master” by OutsideOnline.com, the SB100 promises to continue to thrill and punish riders along its world–class route though California's beautiful central coast.

Riders of all levels can chose between three scenic, fun and challenging courses: 100–mile with 9,000 feet of climbing, 100–km with 4,000 feet of climbing, or 34–miles with 2,200 feet of climbing. The 100–mile course includes the legendary “Gibraltar Wealth Management Challenge,” a 7–mile time trial up Gibraltar road with 3,000 feet of elevation gain and epic views of Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean.Â

“Thanks to all of our great volunteers and sponsors like Silver Air, the Santa Barbara 100 is so much more than a cycling event,” said Tricia Middleton, Santa Barbara 100 Marketing and Sponsorship Director. “We're working extremely hard to continue to make this a world–class cycling event, and we're looking forward to building on our momentum from last year and creating an even better event experience for riders this year — and raising even more for the charities.”

Capitalizing on that momentum from 2015 and in line with the organization's goal to continue to build towards a world–class event, the all–volunteer board is partnering this year with Easy Day Sports to help produce the event.

“We see the incredible opportunity this ride has as it gains momentum and continues to support the community of Santa Barbara in a meaningful way,” said Jamie Monroe of EASY DAY Sports. “The Santa Barbara 100 presents an exciting opportunity to participate in one of the most iconic bike rides in the country, and we are confident this event will continue to grow as we expect more than 1,000 riders to participate this year.”

Registration for the 2016 event is open now with more information at www.sb100.org.
