PORTLAND, OR—(Marketwired – July 28, 2016) – Janrain®, the leading Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions provider, today announced the recent, successful completion of a Service Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type II examination, confirming that Janrain has implemented proper controls designed to keep its clients' data secure, confidential and available for its clients' use.
Janrain's clean SOC 2 Type II report indicates that the company's processes, procedures and controls are in accordance with the Security, Availability, and Confidentiality Trust Services Principles and Criteria established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants at AT Section 101, Attest Engagements (AICPA, Professional Standards). SOC 2 is designated as an acceptable method for a user entity's management to obtain assurance about service organization internal controls over Security, Availability and Confidentiality without conducting additional assessments.
A–Lign independently conducted Janrain's SOC 2 examination for the period of January 1, 2016 through June 30, 2016.
“At Janrain, we have a company–wide focus on continual improvement in data security and privacy,” said Lewis Barr, General Counsel and Vice President of Privacy. “We view this positive SOC 2 attestation as a reflection of the strong, programmatic controls we have implemented to secure the data and other confidential information which our clients entrust to us while making it readily available for their use. We are proud to have earned this positive attestation alongside our privacy certification by TRUSTe and our ISO 27001:2013 certification by Schellman and Company.”
A SOC 2 examination is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organization has been through an evaluation of their control activities as they relate to the applicable Trust Services Principles and Criteria. A Type II report not only includes the service organization's system description, but also includes detailed testing of the design and operating effectiveness of the service organization's controls.
