The future of Pharr City Manager Fred Sandoval is the focus of a specially-called city commission meeting today. Newly-elected mayor Ambrosio Hernandez requested that the issue of the city manager’s employment be placed on the agenda. Hernandez and two other Pharr Forward candidates who won election to the commission May 9th, don’t like that Sandoval is also managing the Pharr Economic Development Corporation, and they had criticized him for being too generous with tax incentive packages used to attract companies like Costco. The agenda states that the commission will discuss the voluntary or involuntary separation, reassignment, or severance agreement related to Sandoval.
