Yes, that’s not a miss print.  I am going to show you how to rank #1 on Google in mere minutes.  As you know when it comes to ranking in Google there are a multitude of factors at play.  And Every SEO guru has a take on which ones are most important, and you need to do X.Y, & Z in order to have a prayer of achieving a number 1 ranking.

I am here to tell you it’s quite simple and you can do it like I did.  Now you’ll have to do a little work, but you have to work at everything you do.

Before we get into the nuts and bolts of this case study we’ll call it this blog post of mine that was written and went to number 1 on Google was only…

323 words long.

What?

Get out of here.  How the hell did you do that?

You must have some serious links pointing to your site and/or that particular blog post?

Nope.

in fact I only have a couple do follow links period to this

site and recently lost the most authoritative one.

Only, then did I rank #1 on Google!

Just so you know I am not blowing smoke up your backside, below is a screen grab of it.

Yes, that’s right I am above authority sites such as Captora and Kissmetrics.

How?

Great question.

On to the good stuff.

You ready?

Let’s roll.

Step-by-Step Tutorial On How To Rank Number 1 in Google – Without Backlinks

We’ll use the above screen grab as our main reference point throughout I guess we can call it a case study if you will.

How did I arrive at trying to rank for this particular keyword?

The keyword in question is  – Average Customer Acquisition Cost By Industry

First Step – I took the keyword customer acquisition cost and placed it in a very useful free tool called keywordtool.io.

Here is what keywordtool.io looks like and we’ll discuss it in detail.

As you can see you can get 750+ keyword suggestions for free from any of the following.

Google

YouTube

Bing

Amazon

App Store

I have typed in the keyword customer acquisition cost which I used to get my keyword suggestion, which ultimately led to the number 1 ranking on Google.

After I click on the search icon, keywordtool.io finds 198 unique keywords for customer acquisition cost.  Check out the screenshot below of this.

Now, I am not going to scroll down and take screenshots of all 198 unique keywords as that would be counter productive.

But, you can clearly see the different suggestions.

What did I do with all 198 keywords?

I started to go through them and by going through them I mean see what the competition is for that keyword when performing a search using exact match in Google.

What is exact match?

When you type a keyword into Google with “quotes” around it, then press search.

Here’s an example of what that looks like when utilizing the keyword I was able to rank.

When I do that there are only 10 results listed for that particular keyword in Google.

**When I started going down the list of the 198 unique keywords I noticed the competition was very high.

So, I took the keyword customer acquisition cost by industry from that list and plugged it into keywordtool.io.

From there a list of 5 keywords popped up and I chose – average customer acquisition cost by industry and performed the above exact match search we went over.

Make sense?

Sweet!

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

This tells you that the competition for that keyword is not high and your chances to be able to rank for that keyword are great.  All you have to do is create better content than what is listed for those 10 search results.

How do you do that?

By clicking on and scrolling each of the results and see what they do well and what deficiencies exist.

Then all you need to do is make something better.

What do you mean by better?

If there is not any use of visuals i.e. an infographic, videos, screenshots, or relevant images to make your point.

I made a simple infographic to go along with the 323 words contained in that particular blog post.

As you will see that is all I did.

How did I make the infographic?

I used Canva to make the infographic.

All I did was take an existing template.  There are multiple templates you can choose from and just edited it with the information I wanted to put on it.

Then wallah!  I was done.

Simple enough.  I mean my 2-year old could almost figure it out.  That may be because he’s wicked smart, but I have faith that you can figure that out too.

Click here to check out that infographic that I made for this top ranking blog post.

Want to know a little more about Canva?

Well I have you covered here is a short series of 5 quick videos and I mean quick, that explain Canva.

FYI….The above is a playlist which means after the first video is over the second video starts playing automatically.

How are we doing ?

Still with me here?

Awesome sauce.

If you read that blog post you’ll notice that there are not any external links to authority sites like Wikipedia.

Why would that matter?

When Google is crawling your webpage and sees that you have an external or outbound link to an authority site, it tends to perceive your blog post or page as more credible in their eyes which can give you a bump in the serps.

Now, there are a lot and I mean a lot of basic SEO principles I did not incorporate into this blog post we’re discussing in which I was able to achieve a number 1 ranking for in Google.

You should use some of these principles, that we will discuss shortly.  So hang a few seconds for that.

So, how many ties did you use your keyword (average customer acquisition cost by industry) in the blog post?

2 times!

Where?

In the title of the blog post.

Within the first paragraph of the blog post.

That’s it!

If you go back up and look at the first screen grab closely, I am ranking number 1 in Google for the broad search term average customer acquisition cost by industry.

What is broad search?

When you just type whatever it is you’re looking for into Google.

And, there are over 2.9 million search results for that term average customer acquisition cost by industry and as you can clearly see I rank #1!

Little ‘ole me ranks ahead of Captora and KissMetrics which are authority sites in the customer acquisition niche.

All I did were utilize the steps we already discussed.

Nothing else, or some super tricky, double-secret probation tactic that helps me rank ahead of them.

In todays’ Google social shares can have an impact on your ranking as well.

Meaning, if you have a lot of social shares for a particular webpage, then that is supposed to tell Google that you’re relevant for a particular search term and should rank higher as a result.

Is this a hard and fast rule?

Absolutely not.  I am living proof that it isn’t.

But…..Social shares can only help.

Guess what?

There are only 27 social shares for this blog post.  I am not pulling your leg go look for yourself.

In essence, you can rank # 1 in Google.  All you need to do is a little research and a little work.

Basic SEO Principles You Should Use On All Of Your Web Pages

Here is a short explainer video on what those principles are.

Watch now.  It’s only 1:47 long and very well worth your attention.  No doubt about it.

Conclusion

Well that’s all there is to how to rank # 1 on Google in mere minutes.  See, it’s not luck, or only for those sites that have high domain authority.  You, the little guy can rank # 1 on Google today if you follow what we’ve talked about, but it will only happen if you do the work.  So, stop reading and get to work!
