@noeleen_o : I just had to participate in this competition because my tailor deserves it. My tailor and I have come a long way. We started as course mates in the university, then friends, and now she is my designer. @omgbymide is one amazing person whose journey into the fashion industry was an unexpected curve in our career line, but one borne out of her vivacious, tenacious and ambitious spirit. So only started this journey in 2014 during our NYSC days undergone several internships and I am simply amazed at how far she has come in this short time. We make a perfect team because she has known me for years, understands my style and personality, so i don’t have to bother so much about thinking up styles because she is so creative and also understands that for me beauty on the outside is as important as the inside and so pays attenton to every detail. Okay, so I wore this outfit the other day, and as I stepped in, all eyes were on me (not exaggerating) and this is what makes us a perfect pair. I love to stand out and she knows how to give me just that. Above all, my love for fabrics has met someone with a creative mind. How did I meet my tailor?? Yh it all happened that I had this wedding to attend, hadn’t made my clothes and it was just 2 days to the day. Someone told me to try @jennaissignature and I was super impressed. Her patience is overwhelming, her ideas and concepts are intriguing, she knows how to fix your piece accurately. @beautifulonyinye_ : They say “quitters never win and winners never quit” so this is me picking myself up and doing putting in another entry this week not just because I want to win but also cause I know @identitybyfifi’s worth. I probably know her more than all her customers because beyond being my tailor, she is my sister. Nah… I don’t patronise her cause of that (cause doing business with family can be one kain) but because of her quality and what she stands for. She always says “I never want a customer to leave unsatisfied- which includes you” . Then, with those she works with, she’s not “madam”, she’s “sister”. This is me talking from the inside… She would rather give them her last card just to make sure they are happy- even when its a personal issue- than see them lacking and sometimes, I’ll be like . Then her dedication, patience, outstanding customer service and her too-good-to-be-true prices- she tries to meet her customers’ needs regardless of their budget and it scares me. Infact, I even ask her sometimes “how will you pay your rent like this?” Its mindblowing. And then her eye for detail! There are times I tell her “this wedding doesn’t have any asoebi o”. She’ll just ask for details and put up something so quickly From colour, to fabric to style to knowing the “good and bad” spots. She always says “every woman’s body is different and so is every event and that’s why clothes I make for my clients must be flattering and suitable for their various events”. I walked to her one day and said “I must be your ambassador o! Its by force! Use me to take your photos. I’m too proud of you”. I remember meeting her that night telling her that I had seen her works and wanted her to make me a dress scratch that, The dress; well myself and my best friend’s. From Measurements, to getting my fabrics for me,fittings and everything; her customer service was superb. Her ingenuity was awesome. She made sure that I got my dream dress. So I do the expected, search for her on IG nd her works were rili impressive but I don’t call her or message her. I think to myself ‘for someone who’s interning with @tojufoyeh she’s going to be expensive’ so I do nothing But as Fate would have it, that night I was going to get dinner nd i saw her, I approached her nd told her my predicament nd she was like “I’m booked for the rest of the year but since u rili need this I’ll see what I can do” Nd then we got talking, even in my indecisiveness she helped pick a style, twas like she completed me, I couldn’t figure out exactly what I wanted but she was so patient and receptive, she even gave me tips bcos I was going to go into the fashion biz myself. This particular dress I picked for this compitetion is one of my best(Asoebi for a friend’s wedding),it’s not only simple its also her technique.The pink material on my shoulders is actually the scarf for the wedding. She asked me Not to tie my head ( I ve very full thick Natural hair)… Eugina asked me to be different n in her words “don’t worry u wldnt feel left out if u dnt ve ur gele on, you wld Carry it with you to the wedding”…I was shocked at her creativity when I went to pick up my dress. @fabulousbianca : I convinced myself not to write in for a number of reasons but this is 2017, so I have decided to be bold and my tailor truly does deserve this. I was introduced to her by my colleague/friend and it’s been a creative love affair from then on till now. She makes me want to keep designing outfits, she’s got a Knack for keeping to time with little or no amendments most of the time when she delivers. It just always fit like a silhouette, she knows my body and my love for figure hugging outfits. She works from her home all the way in Bwari, Abuja as she has neither a helping hand nor a shop but she has never cancelled on me even when I always give her the shortest possible deadlines, the longest she had been with my fabric is possibly 2 weeks. She has never lost or mix matched styles meant for one fabric for another. Amazingly, She makes my work outfits as well as my Asoebibella outfits. I now enjoy the art of creating outfits and a vigour for picking out fabrics. She totally gets my fabulous nature, I am her muse. I have renewed faith in Nigerian tailors since I met her. I now ride shotgun on the wear Nigerian bandwagon. Send her any picture, sketch or describe anything to her and she will totally “slaughter” it. She is very very good at what she does, I call her a perfectionist cause she will make your clothes in such a way that you will be left in awe of how perfect and beautiful it is. @datsupachic : I have several tailors for different fabrics, but since this competition is meant to reward and upgrade the tailor, I’ll go with the one I think needs it more. My tailor is @kenindeiberu whom I refer to as #KehindeTheDesigner. We have been together for about 3yrs now. @kenindeiberu is a young and hardworking lady who knows her stuff but sometimes youthful exuberance distracts her. She is the queen of blings and can completely transform your fabric to a dazzling outfit (sometimes I have to beg her to go easy on the stones or else she goes to town). As common with most tailors, we sometimes fight about clothes not being ready on time, however, she’s also able to perform magic and get ur outfit ready on a tight schedule. I call her #KehindeThe Designer because she sometimes takes the risk of changing the style I have selected and I end up liking it. I follow a lot of designers and fashion icons on Instagram and usually collect (screen shot) pictures of outfits that I like, @kenindeiberu is able to bring such outfits to life at much lower cost (I’m sure). It’s interesting to know that in all 3years of our relationship, I have never been to her shop! She collects fabrics and delivers back with little of no fittings to my house saving me the stress of maneuvering round Yaba. @theifeoma : ADA ICHIDA Cross off shoulder gown with lace hemming by Blessing Blessing and I get on well, but sometimes its a love-hate relationship. Sometimes she delivers and other times its frustrating trying to show her that all she missed was am in or detail. Sometimes we stay up till night trying to describe the design and how I feel she should cut the pieces. Its already a norm that I have to explain specifically what I want and how it should be. Sometimes when I arrive she signs and says in her native language ‘This girl has come again’. Even though we both understand each other and we still make the best team. Despite all her mistakes and mine, we still make the best and baddest of clothes. I would this a million times, if it means she gets to upgrade her shop to get better tools to empower her business. @thomieseen : So apparently i met @asake22 on my way to cross river for Nysc and we just randomly talked, on getting to camp we were just few bunks away from each other, and then she would make jokes and everyone would laugh except me trust me, i was never a fan Then camp ended, we got posted to our Primary place of assignment.. and fortunately we had to take the same bus and sleep in the same Family house for the night mehn .. then the hustle began and the same girl i never liked her joke became my one friend at that time Then we started work and she would be like , ‘Tomi baby when are you going to buy material, and sew from me’ I was always like ‘ people with B.sc like her would charge more, and me i be sting koko for all that’ But she never stopped making me feel like I haven’t had the best tailor in years, so our cloth sowing story began with her transforming some of my cloths to become better styles …and they were wonderful i would always get a comment on them. Plus she makes me buy nice materials Then each time i go to her shop for measurements and probably to drop off something she ordered for from me, we get to gist so much that she would cut and sow another cloth while shes with me and then she makes me help her with stone arrangement for another client cloth ..the worse is when she comes to my house , she starts with my closet and ends with closet, where she gets to pick out clothes that needs one adjustment or design and then coach me on how to have an healthy wardrobe .. nd nt disgrace my tailor and then still charges me for it Plus mehn her jokes are quite hilarious Shes been my Tailor and my friend for more than a year now but she still charges me way up but she’s affordable always …i know am still owing you money you be Orijinal Tailor abeg @asakee22 padi me toh sure #orijinalAsoEbiBella #liveorijinal

We became friends akA gisting partners and good study partners while in school, we finished secondary school together and unfortunately went our separate ways. Over the years, we kept in touch and I remember seeing posts of her designs online and finding them very unique and different, so when I needed a designer/tailor to do a collaboration with for a particular segment on my blog I knew who exactly to call because I knew we would make the perfect pair.
