The 210 Freeway in LaVerne was fully reopened after it was mostly shut down following a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a dump truck on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred shortly before 3:45 a.m. on the eastbound 210 Freeway near Fruit Street after a dump truck jackknifed, the CHP’s incident log reported.
One person died at the scene, according to CHP Officer Monica Posada. Another person was injured and had to be taken to a hospital.
An officer at the scene told KTLA that the person killed and the person injured — both men — were in a white Lexus that was disabled on the right shoulder of the freeway when the crash occurred.
Video from the scene showed the mangled wreckage of the vehicle, and debris from the car littering the roadway.
A SigAlert was issued around 3:55 a.m. and all eastbound lanes on the freeway were closed, as was the carpool lane on the westbound freeway, according to the incident log.
It was initially expected to be in effect for at least three hours, Posada said, adding the SigAlert could be extended because crews needed to repair the center divider.
All lanes were open again on the freeway as of 8:30 a.m., video from the scene showed.
An investigation into the crash was underway.
