SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The holidays mean fun and family, but for many Americans, it also means traveling. Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, is the third busiest travel day of the year.
Airlines for America projects more than 27 million people will fly on U.S. airlines during the Thanksgiving travel period, up 2.5 percent from last year.
AAA forecasts that 48.7 million Americans will travel and nearly 6 million of those people are Californians.
KRON4’s Will Tran spend Wednesday morning at the San Francisco International Airport to preview how the holiday travel looks.
To make things as easy as possible for your trips through airports this holiday season, follow these tips from the Transportation Security Administration.

Consider the TSA pre-check program
Know what can and can’t fly

Leave your Samsung Galaxy Note 7 at home
Tape a business card or leave identification on valuable electronics
If you have a question, check with the TSA
