The Grand Rapids Thunderhawk went into the Hornet’s Nest on Thursday and came away with a 6-4 win over the Edina Hornets. The Thunderhawks opened up a close game by exploding for 4 goals in the 2nd period to take a 5-1 lead. Mitchell Mattson 2 goals (one shorthanded and one on the powerplay), Alex Adams with 2 goals, Eric Soderberg and Jack Bowman with singles. Gabe Holum the win in net for the Thunderhawks. Grand Rapids takes on #2 Eden Prairie on Friday evening at 6 – and Elk River on Saturday at 6 to complete the Edina Classic.
