On May 27, 50th Annual Baeksang Awards was held at the Kyunghee University Hall of Peace and were attended by top actors and actresses.
Kim Soo Hyun won the Popularity Award for his drama You Who Came from the Stars and from his film Secretly, Greatly. He was also chosen as the Best New Actor for his movie Secretly, Greatly.
The actor had his major career turning point when he starred in the SBS drama You Who Came from the Stars when he played as an alien named Do Min Joon. Kim Soo Hyun has become very popular all over Korea and even abroad.
As Kim Soo Hyun received his award, he said, “I am very grateful for this award. I want to thank all the crew of You Who Came from the Stars, Screenwriter Park Ji Eun, Director Jang Tae Yoo and the rest of the staff of the drama. I also want to thank all those who have loved Do Min Joon from the very start.” The actor expressed his gratitude in the speech and added, “Cheon Song Yi, I love you” which made the crowd’s hearts flutter.
