IU came back to the small screen as a female lead of the upcoming KBS Wednesday-Thursday drama Pretty Man (Also known as Beautiful Man) after putting an end to her activities with her recent album “modern times“ said that she loves to continue both her singing and performing.
On November 18, the television series held a production press conference in Imperial Palace Seoul in the Seoul area of Nonhyeon-dong. “I had planed to wrap up my four-week activities for my newest album. However, I decided to appear as Kim Bo Tong of the new drama because I was thrilled about the synopsis and the plot.” said the young singer and actress.
“I am very happy to do two things at the same time. I think that performing helps me to cope with stress from singing and vice versa. There is a sort of mutual cooperation between the two. I believe that I will continue to do well thanks to my sound body,” IU added.
The prospect young actress calls Kim Bo Tong as a combination of Kim Pil Sook of Dream High and Lee Soon Shin of You’re the Best, Lee Soon-shin. Kim Bo Tong is a lively ordinary girl in her 10s who goes through fire and water to be Dokgo Ma Te (Jang Keun Seok)’s wife.
“It was a good idea to have a stage name because I feel responsible for my career with using it. It helps me to differentiate public affairs from private. Acting is also another expression of the entertainer IU,“ answered the young woman about a question why she uses her stage name for acting not her real name. “IU is learning more about her job and getting smarter, however, Lee Ji Eun thinks of all as very simple things in her lives,” added the famous singer.
IU will hold her 2nd solo concert at Kyunghee University’s Peace Hall in Hoegidong, Seoul on November 23-24.
