Toyota is increasing the production of V6 engines
found in certain trims of models like the 2012 Toyota Camry
and 2012 Toyota Venza that are available to drivers in the
greater Arlington, VA area. To do this, the Japanese
automaker will invest $80 million in its factory in Huntsville, Alabama (Toyota
Motor Manufacturing Alabama, Inc), adding 125 new jobs and more than doubling
V6 engine output.

"Toyota Motor Manufacturing Alabama has been a
dedicated corporate citizen in Alabama for more than ten years, and today's
announcement is an exciting new chapter for this company and this
community," explains Alabama Governor, Robert Bentley. "This
expansion is also a testament to the business climate we've worked hard to
create in Alabama - a climate in which companies are encouraged to expand,
innovate, and create new jobs."1

It's also worth noting that while this specific
investment in Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Inc. is aimed at increasing V6
output, Toyota also produces 4-cylinder and V8 engines there. So why
focus on V6 engines specifically? That would be because this isn't
the first big investment that Toyota has made in its production infrastructure
recently; it's the fifth!

Toyota has also invested in a number of its other
plants recently, including Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky, which produces
4-cylinder engines. And if the idea of juggling five production expansions
sounds impressive, you'll be even more amazed at the collective price tag. That
would be $645 million.

The single most exciting part projects
like these? If you ask anyone here at Koons Tysons Toyota,
it's easily the prospect of having more new
Toyota models to offer test drives on here at 8610
Leesburg Pike Vienna, VA 22182, as we're always happy to answer
questions and arrange test drives.
