Lady A

Lady A has been singing for more than 20 years, however, began her solo singing career with the Baby Blues Funk band in 1994.  This sultry-husky voiced vixen is a contemporary blues diva and keeps her roots of Alexandria, Louisiana and Seattle gospel in the forefront of every show she performs.

Lady A’s second full length CD entitled “How did I Get Here?,” sold an impressive number of CD’s during the 2013 Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland and became music that “Touches the heart….then takes you on a Ride”!

Don’t miss this opportunity to listen to tunes that take you on a journey of this songstress’ musical and spiritual awakening.  With songs like: the zydeco funk influenced“If Momma Ain’t Happy,”  the down in the alley blues featuring Dexter Allen on Guitar “My Kind of Blues,”  the Mississippi Juke Joint influenced party song  “Moan Instead of Sing,”  the throwback soul of “Cabbage & Cornbread,” and the heartfelt title cut“How Did I Get Here?”  written by Lady A in honor of her long time friend and bass player, Gary Smith.

The cd is $9.99 on ITunes

The cd is $8.99 on Amazon

Great album and we enjoy it and if you ever see her on stage, WOW! The energy is incredible!

The Night the Animals Talked

In June 2013 the Christmas book, The Night the Animals Talked by Patricia Barry Rumble, received a Silver from the Mom’s Choice Awards® (MCA) for Juvenile fiction (9-12 years old) in the Religion and Spirituality category.

Based on the play by the same name, The Night The Animals Talked is a heart-warming, contemporary book for the entire family. Two days before Christmas, the Martinez family is busy getting ready for the holidays and about to practice the play the grandmother wrote, The Night The Animals Talked — which they will be performing in their front yard on Christmas Eve. The play is based on the Norwegian legend that on the night that Jesus was born, the animals talked.

As the mother of the family, Sarah, bakes cookies, her joy is clouded by worries about her husband who is in the Gulf of Mexico on an underwater video shoot.

The fifteen-year old son is glued to his computer, awaiting his father’s video footage that will show the environmental importance of abandoned oil rigs to marine life, including endangered species, like sea turtles and dolphins.

As everyone gathers to rehearse their roles, they are still very aware of the father’s underwater shoot, visible on the computer monitor. Suddenly a crisis occurs in the Gulf and the screen goes dark.

The resolution of the story relates directly to the title, The Night The Animals Talked.
