The latest rumor that the yarns have been spinning is that Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to make a comeback on the silver screen with hubby Abhishek Bachchan in the remake of Shekhar Kapur’s classic film Masoom. Reports suggest that Aishwarya and Abhishek have been slated to play the same iconic roles with a contemporary touch.

Based on Eric Segal’s popular novel Man Woman and Child, the theme of Masoom is novel and tender. The original movie starred Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi in lead roles and was deemed to be a cinematic genius of sorts. The movie also marked the debut of Urmila Matondkar and Jugal Hansraj as child actors.
Sources also revealed that Himesh Reshammiya has acquired the rights of the cult film and is expected to rope in Bedabrata Pain who had previously directed Chittagong too. The news piece also informed that lyricist Gulzar will write the screenplay for the film as well.
However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation of the news so far but watching Aishwarya Rai make a comeback after the long respite will make for quite an interesting watch!
