Two residents of the state of Kentucky each have been formally charged with drug-related felonies after an incident earlier this year in Cooper County.

According to a probable-cause statement, on August 9, a Missouri Highway Patrol trooper conducted a stop on a vehicle for traffic violations near the 95 mile marker of I-70. The trooper reportedly noticed the vehicle was occupied by three adults with one child and spoke with 23-year-old Charles Rose and 22-year-old Hanna Rose, both of Pine Knot, KY.

During questioning, Charles Rose reportedly admitted to possessing a significant amount of an illegal drug, where a search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered nine pounds marijuana. Hanna Rose reportedly also admitted to knowing about the marijuana, where the other adult occupant allegedly had no knowledge of the contraband.

Online court documents state Charles and Hanna Rose each have been charged with a Class C Felony for Delivery of a Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabis and a Class D Felony for Endangering the Welfare of a Child Involving Drugs in the First Degree. Bond for each has not yet been set.

Court dates for each defendant in Cooper County Circuit Court in Boonville is pending.
