Dallas Opera Simulcast of “Moby Dick” at Klyde Warren Park – Moby Dick is at Winspear Opera House, and for those who cannot attend tomorrow/Friday’s opening night, you can watch it… FREE… at 6:30pm! WB Classics Cartoon “Buccaneeer Bunny” will begin the evening. 98.7KLUV’s Jody Dean, plus Kristian Roberts, will host. New for the kids: A free Family Activity Zone from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. will feature a scavenger hunt in the park, Show & Tell with props from Moby-Dick, photo ops, and craft projects.

Trump’d The Musical at Dallas Comedy House – DCH presents its 3rd official sketch comedy revue – the spray-tanned, comb-overed, musical story of America’s most talked about Republican candidate and reality television star.

Mecum Dallas Auction 2016 at Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas – the world’s largest collector car auction company, with an estimated 1,000 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, Hot Rods and Resto Mods from 35 states will be auctioned. Mecum Dallas 2016 is open to sellers, buyers and spectators. Bidder registration is $100 in advance and $200 at the auction and includes admission for two to the four auction days. General admission tickets are available at the gate for $30 per person, per day or $80 for a four -day pass; children 12 and younger receive complimentary admission. Doors open each day at 8 a.m. with the auction beginning with Road Art at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2 and at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3-5. Cars will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2 and at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3-5.  A live stream of the entire auction will be presented at Mecum.com.

Dewali Mela Festival at Cotton Bowl – join the Crow Collection and the South Asian community for a mela, a Sanskrit word for gathering. Celebrate Diwali, the ancient autumn festival of lights, that symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. The show will feature Bollywood stars, including playback singer Kanika Kapoor; a community stage; food booths; children’s activities; Diwali merchandise; and a spectacular laser and fireworks show.

North Dallas Toy Show at Valley View Center – Vintage toys and collectibles including HotWheels, ActionFigures, ComicBooks, Collectible Toys, Transformers, Matchbox cars, Star Wars, Batman, Marvel Legends, DC Comics, Star Trek, Pop Vinyl, Sci-Fi, Horror toys, TradingCards, Diecast cars and Happy Meal Toys. Plus, more than 50 tables of fun for the whole family. Admission is $2 (free for kids 11 and younger). Located on the 1st floor at Valley View Mall, inside Dallas Party Rentals Store. Entrance faces Monfort Road.

Funky Finds Holiday Shopping Experience 2016 at Will Rogers Memorial Center – is a free family and pet-friendly handmade shopping event featuring over 100 artists, crafters, designers, authors and gourmet food makers selling their unique hand-crafted items.

Japanese Garden Fall Festival at Ft. Worth Botanic Garden – enjoy traditional experiences including Japanese dance, music, martial arts, sword demonstrations, raku, and tea ceremonies, just to name a few.

Texas Chili Fest at Granada Theater – according to their website, “… is a celebration of autumn and combines music, chili and good times. The event will feature different N. Texas chefs competing as they feature their culinary takes on the “Bowl o’ Red” traditions. Chili will be available for purchase, as with other food options, and participating chili Chef’s will provide 1oz sampling portions while supplies last. As well, (2) stages will be showcasing bands playing a combination of Americana and/or Texas Country music. Additionally, a vendor village, interactive game area and VIP tent all will be on display for event-goers to enjoy.

Cutting Edge Haunted House 2016 – according to their website, “Cutting Edge Haunted House is a dark attraction filled with terrifying live actors, amazing special effects and incredible monsters. Cirque Italia at Northeast Mall – their website notes, “Cirque Italia is an Italian entertainment company that brings a performance of European style. It is described as a “vivid, dramatic, and moving experience under a customized traveling tent.” Cirque Italia brings the appreciation of production and circus arts together to create a night to be remembered. Cirque Italia presents “Aquatic Spectacular.” The name reflects a unique attribute under the tent, as the show features a custom designed water stage that travels from city to city. The stage holds 35,000 gallons of water that performers dazzle over while thrilling the audience with every move. With this “unique feature” under the tent, guests will be surprised, for it’s a show of its own! Cirque Italia brings talented artists from across the world under the big top with performances that will really have you wanting more. They bring unique aerial acts, hand balancing, contortionists, and many more surprise performances that are breathtaking. They have created a show that is magical, modern, breathtaking, and most importantly –unforgettable!

Moby-Dick at Winspear Opera House – The Dallas Opera’s 2010 world premiere is back. Composer Jake Heggie, and librettist Gene Scheer based their work on Herman Melville’s epic tale of Captain Ahab’s obsession with the great white whale, Moby-Dick. Tenor Jay Hunter Morris stars in the role of Captain Ahab. Also cast is baritone Morgan Smith (Starbuck), tenor Stephen Costello (Greenhorn), and making his Dallas Opera debut is South African bass-baritone Musa Ngqungwana. Performed in English with English supertitles projected above the stage.
