Texas Frightmare Weekend at the Hyatt Regency DFW – Robert Englund, George A. Romero, Rose McGowan, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, KISS’s Peter Criss, James Remar, John Carroll Lynch, Lance Henriksen, Tony Todd, cast members from MTV’s Scream: The Series and Halloween II, plus many more will make appearances at the Southwest’s premier horror-themed convention and film festival. Expect seriously creepy screenings, panels, autograph sessions, makeup demos and more. Individual day and weekend passes are available for purchase online.

Mayfest in Ft. Worth continues and their website touts “It’s the biggest party in Fort Worth! Live music, festival food, carnival rides, performing arts, pet adoptions, USATF-certified 5K, 10K, and 1K Fun Run, more than 60 Art and Gift Market vendors, free children’s activities, and special attractions on 33 glorious acres in Fort Worth’s Trinity Park Mayfest is one event you won’t want to miss!” Mayfest is produced by Mayfest, Inc., a 501(c) 3 organization. The proceeds from each year’s festival are given back to the community in support of programs from three of Mayfest’s founding organizations – The Junior League of Fort Worth, Inc., Streams & Valleys, Inc., and The City of Fort Worth Parks and Community Services. Mayfest, Inc. is proud to have given back more than $6.65 million to benefit the city of Fort Worth and it’s citizens.

A Salute To Prince: Purple Rain 35mm & Dance Party at Texas Theatre – according to tghe venue, “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to celebrate the man’s music and life with a screening of Purple Rain on brilliant 35mm and directly following the feature, deejays Gabriel, Travis Box and Michael J. Rox will help you dance the tears away with Prince’s hits, deep cuts, b-sides, rarities and related projects.” $1 from each ticket will go to a very special charity (TBA).
