Arts, Antiques and Autos Extravaganza – at the Denton Courthouse Square – hot rods, classic and custom cars plus an array of activities throughout the day at this annual Denton Square festival. Hands-on arts & crafts and games, festival foods, live music, antique appraisals, and vendors with an assortment of items for sale. During the festival, Chalk Fest will bring some fantastic chalk drawings to the sidewalks at W. Oak near the corner of Cedar & Elm streets.

Pick-ups-N-Panels Car and Truck Shootout at Farmers Branch Historical Park – Pickups-N-Panels Truck Club hosts its annual fundraiser for cancer. Dallas Chocolate Festival – according to their website, join DallasChocolate.org at the Addison Conference Centre as they celebrate chocolate makers and chocolatiers that have elevated their craft to an art form. The event will showcase everything from beautifully painted bonbons to imaginative chocolate sculptures, and several bean-to-bar artisans in between. Returning from last year’s event will be the conference hall full of chocolate purveyors and their delectable samples, an interactive children’s table, food trucks, Mistress of Ceremonies Madame Cocoa, sweet VIP packages, and demonstrations throughout the day. Dallas Zoo Wildlife Weekend – according to their website, Join the Dallas Zoo in celebrating forests around the world, from your backyard to the immense rain forests of Africa and Asia. Learn about ways the Zoo works to preserve forest habitats and the animals that inhabit them – and what you can do as well to help protect these fragile environments. Activity stations will be located throughout the Zoo, where you’ll be able to make pledges to support forest inhabitants including gibbons, okapi, gorillas, the Virginia opossum, and the black-breasted leaf turtle. You can make a difference by giving a “Thumbs Up for Wildlife” and posting a social media pledge to support conservation of forest habitats and species. Wolman’s unparalleled access to rock and roll’s heavy hitters of the times helped Rolling Stone guide the creation of the “rock star” persona from performer, to cover model, to music and pop culture icon.Two other music-related exhibits are also on display:Rock and Roll Billboards from the Sunset Strip: Advertising in one of the most musically influential parts of the country, industry executives used images such as the Beatles Abbey Road cover for billboards installed next to rock and toll clubs like the Whiskey-a-Go-Go, the Roxy, and the Key Club that gave a stage to up and coming bands that today enjoy a legendary status.
