Shannen Doherty is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment for her fight against breast cancer. As part of a challenge from her friend Sarah Michelle Gellar, Doherty shared an absolutely adorable pic of her and her husband with the hashtag “#LoveYourSpouseChallenge.”
Under the picture, Doherty captions how she has seen friends run away and strangers step up during her illness, but her husband since 2011, Kurt Iswarienko has been a constant in her life during this troubled time.
She’s been posting a picture a day highlighting their life together, although this picture comes after shaving her head due to chemotherapy after receiving the news that her cancer had spread. Doherty admits that she is a little worried for her future. “The unknown is always the scariest part. Is the chemo going to work? Is the radiation going to work? Everything else is manageable. Pain is manageable, you know, living without a breast is manageable. It’s the worry of your future and how your future is going to affect the people that you love.”
Of her husband, Doherty wrote, “I’ve seen friends run, I’ve seen strangers step up, I’ve seen the unwavering still unwaver and I’ve seen [Kurt] there for it all. That’s friendship. That’s love.”
