Workgroup Description
Maritime Division (MD) provides technologies and scientific and technical expertise to deliver the capability edge to the war fighter and enhance the operational performance and survivability of defence platforms in the maritime domain. MD applies a range of technologies, and undertakes analyses of the effects of their integration on the overall effectiveness of maritime systems.
MD helps the ADF to be a smart buyer ensuring that future maritime systems, manned or unmanned, will meet Australias operational requirements. MD also works on platform life extension and reduction in the cost of ownership.
MD aims to be at the forefront of the application of science and technology to maritime war fighting systems and operations. The scientific and technical activities of MD contribute to improving the operational availability, reliability and safety of existing maritime, and air platforms, as well as reducing the vulnerability of these platforms.
There is an emphasis on technology teaming within MD, with a strong outcome focus. Examples include submarine combat systems, stealth, autonomous systems, advanced propellers and propulsion systems. MD aspires to be integral to the evolution of Navy, the partner of choice in the acquisition of maritime capabilities, and recognised as world leading in niche areas of maritime S&T.

What do we mean by disability?

The Selection Process
Defence APS recruitment processes are based on merit which means that we select the best person for the job from a field of applicants. Psychological Assessment
Some positions at DSTG require that shortlisted applicants undertake a Psychological Assessment to determine organisational suitability. Eligibility
Employment with the Department of Defence is subject to conditions prescribed within the
