Description

The purpose of this role is to combine business requirements, corporate
standards, as well as industry best practices in delivering enterprise
infrastructure solutions to inte
al & exte
al customers as well as serve as an inte
al consultant focusing on tactical as well as strategic solutions for the
enterprise. This position participates in requirements meetings, design
sessions, solutions modeling, technical documentation, project execution as
well as post implementation consulting on a global level, across multiple
geographically dispersed functional environments located within the Wyndham
Technology Centers as well as Wyndham Worldwide global data centers and as
Wyndham’s systems are geographically segmented, partnerships with global and
regional constituents, Wyndham Worldwide and various outsourced vendors will
be relevant to this position. This role will also have responsibility for the
datacentres as they pertain to this role and will serve as level 3 incidents
support, and may have to perform on-call duties outside core business hours
should the need arise.

Key Responsibilities

a) Service Delivery

+ Responsible for support that maintains the operational integrity of WER’s
systems/technologies located in WER datacentres and Wyndham Worldwide Global
Data Centers. Perform daily tasks within the scope of the role including
presenting solutions, interfacing with vendors, 3rd party and managed service
providers, and other in-houseteams to support WER’s call center, e-commerce,
corporate call center, proprietary and COTs systems and applications,
including problem, incident and change management as applicable.

+ Ensure agreed targets are met and appropriate qualitative standards
achieved, ensuring systems, processes and methodologies are followed

+ Establish and maintain service and equipment standards.

+ Select appropriate tools, and carry out defined tasks associated with the
planning, installation, upgrade, operation, control and maintenance of the
operational infrastructure

+ Infrastructure security oversight including user activity monitoring,
testing and audits, workstation policies, identity and access management

+ Operations carried out to prescribed SLAs and stated service schedules via
proactive monitoring, trend analysis, performance management and operational
coordination

+ Maintain documentation related to policies, procedures and processes for
supporting and maintaining systems

+ Continuously monitor performance and throughput with a view to proposing
ways of attaining improvements proactively to meet business needs.

+ Maintain and monitor capacity plans to ensure adequate capacity to support
short and long term strategic planning based on business awareness.

b) Strategic Planning

+ Works with IT and business teams to research and establish strategic
direction for network, server, application (proprietary and COTS) and server
aligned to business strategy, while assessing the potential benefit to the
organization and recognizes further avenues of research and identifies early
users, if any.

+ Participates in the production of reliable cost, effort and risk estimates
and initial project plans, and documents these and the conclusions reached to
provide the basis of the technology proposal.

+ Contributes to the research, development and testing of new products in
line with organizational needs and IT strategy

+ Maximise opportunities to incorporate Business Continuity and Disaster
Recovery plans in coordination with global functions, including contingency
planning and operational readiness.

+ Endures security standards are at least maintained in coordination with
global functions and compliance requirements

+ Keeps up to date with technology advancements, with demonstrated
appreciation and comprehension of the corresponding benefits, risks and
implications

c) Team management

+ Manage exte
al contractors and suppliers to meet project deliverables and service delivery

+ Coordinates assigned inte
al resources to meet project deliverables and deadlines

d) Compliance and security against all applicable regulations, SOX, PCI etc.

+ Ensure compliance with all compliance controls and procedures

+ Formulate documentation to demonstrate security standards in all design and
build documents created in this role.

+ General adherence to relevant legislation and Wyndham policies

e) Disaster recovery planning

+ Support in the identification and documentation of disaster recovery plans
for all key systems

+ Support regular testing of disaster recovery plans

+ Support business continuity planning

f) Supplier management

+ Maintain productive, successful and enduring relationships with key vendors
to ensure the best outcomes for WER

+ Identify and communicate to line management on opportunities for cost
saving and efficiency through effective supplier management

+ Ensuring that effective relationships exist and are monitored, measured and
reported upon with both inte
al and exte
al users/customers/clients and vendors/suppliers.

Qualifications

* This is senior role within an established team focusing on existing key technologies (Microsoft, VMware and EMC VNX SAN at an advanced level) along with delivering new technologies to support business requirements.

* Experience of leading a team as the role will drive Operational Processes for the technologies we have in place.

* Although role does not have any direct reports it is a key part of the role to interact and work with other team members to educate them and lead them to deliver best practices and support processes.

* Role will also involve working with exte
al Technology partners to support and deliver key projects.

* Individual must be driven, self-sufficient and proactive in the way that work in order to meet tight deadlines and key deliverables.

* Will also be asked to cover for line manager (IT Ops Manager) on occasions in relation to Project and Operational deliverables.

* Proactively review technology solutions and provide recommendations to improve Operational deliverables and processes

* Present any recommendations to all levels of management for review and approval.

* Experience with delivering Projects to tight timelines.

* Experience of cost management for delivering Project deliverables

* Provide 3rdLine support for the IT Operations team where required.

In summary we are looking for an experienced individual with a high level of
technical knowledge in Microsoft products, VMware 5.x and EMC SAN VNX
technologies who has worked in dynamic teams, along with experience in
influencing and guiding individuals and operational teams to deliver the
highest quality of service.
